2020-2022
From 2020 to 2022, GALE had been actively involved in supporting the Highland Foodbank in our community. When the collection points at the Church and the Library closed early in 2020, we stepped in to become a collection point and assist in transporting the goods to the distribution centre in Inverness. At the distribution centre, the items are carefully packaged for redistribution to communities in need.
The Highland Foodbank, operated by Blythswood Care and Trussell Trust, plays a vital role in our community by providing essential support to individuals and families facing food insecurity. They receive referrals from GP’s, health visitors, social workers, and other organisations within the Highlands, ensuring that those in need receive the necessary assistance.
It is disheartening to know that many people in the Highlands struggle to put food on their tables every day. Circumstances such as redundancy or unexpected bills on a low income can place individuals and families in crisis. The Highland Foodbank steps in by offering a minimum of three days’ worth of emergency food and support to those in need.
The success of the Highland Foodbank heavily relies on the generosity of individuals like you. Your donations of food items or financial contributions make a significant difference in supporting this important cause. We urge you to continue supporting their mission to provide assistance to those in crisis.
We are pleased to inform you that (Insert name) is now serving as the collection point for donations. Your contributions will directly impact the lives of individuals and families in our community, ensuring that they have access to the food and support they desperately need.
Thank you for your continued support and compassion.
