Volunteers are the very backbone of our organisation. They give their time, their heart, and their passion to our community.
In short, they are the living embodiment of our goal: to make Gairloch and the Loch Ewe area a better place for people of all abilities to live, work, and thrive. To do this, we aim to provide locals with meaningful volunteer opportunities that are fun, socially stimulating, and full of purpose.
In 2022, GALE volunteers put in an impressive 2619.5 hours in total! How were these hours spent? Let us count the ways! Here’s the breakdown…
Role | Hours |
GALE Centre | 1482.75 |
Befriending | 64.5 |
Litter Busters | 286.5 |
Supported Volunteers | 130 |
Supported High School Students | 93.5 |
Gardening Volunteers | 23 |
Board Members | 539.25 |
Volunteering has so many benefits. Not only is it a great way for people to make friends, it also helps individuals gain self confidence, learn new skills, and feel a sense of accomplishment. And in turn, the community benefits by all the good work that volunteers do.
So, we’d just like to take a moment to applaud all our lovely GALE volunteers! You are the difference! You are our inspiration.
