Join Us in Shaping Our Community Pub Events!
Dear Community Members,
We’re excited to invite you to become a part of something special at the Shieling, home to our Community Pub! Many of you have asked, “What exactly is a Community Pub?” At its core, it’s a pub owned and operated by the community. However, it’s so much more than that.
To give you a glimpse of its incredible potential, we encourage you to check out this inspiring video featuring The Maybush Inn in Great Oakley. They demonstrate how their community-owned pub serves as a hub for various activities, including a Post Office, food trucks, and regular events that bring people together. This is what we aspire to create here at the Shieling!
We are thrilled to announce the formation of an Events Committee that will oversee, plan, and coordinate events at the Shieling. This is your opportunity to help shape the vision of our community pub! The committee will meet quarterly, and you will have the support of GALE staff to help turn your ideas into reality.
