We are pleased to announce an important opportunity for you to contribute to the future of Ward 5 (Wester Ross, Strathpeffer, and Lochalsh). As part of the development of the Area Place Plan, we invite you to participate in a survey organised by the Wester Ross Biosphere. This initiative aims to gather invaluable insights and perspectives from residents like you, ensuring that our community’s needs and aspirations are reflected in the planning process.

In the Words of Wester Ross Biosphere
In 2021, Highland Council made a commitment to develop Area Place Plans (APPs) mainly based on Area Committee boundaries. Area Place Plans set out the vision, ambition and priorities for people and place in that particular area. This will support targeting resources, service delivery and provide a clear vision for attracting external investment.
APPs are being developed and facilitated in various ways across Highland, as each area is different. We appreciate there are a number of plans which interrelate with the APPs, including Local Place Plans (LPPs), the Highland-wide Local Development Plan (LDP), the Highland Outcomes Improvement Plan (HOIP), the Highland Investment Plan (HIP) and the Community Partnership Plans.
To help develop the Area Place Plan for Ward 5 (Wester Ross, Strathpeffer and Lochalsh) we have collated as much information as possible from existing plans and consultations – including Local Place Plans. We would like to ensure that these priorities are still relevant. Please share your thoughts via this Survey or feel free to contact us directly to have a chat. Survey closes on the 26th October 2024.
From the 28th October you can have your say on the First Draft of the Area Place Plan for Ward 5 (Wester Ross, Strathpeffer and Lochalsh.) The plan will be published on the Engage Highland website for comment. There will also be opportunities to see the plan in person at a series of drop in events throughout the area.
Key Dates:
26th October: Survey Closes
28th October: First Draft of the Area Place Plan for Ward 5 is published on the Engage Highland website for comment.
11th – 15th November: Drop in sessions for communities to share views on the first draft of the Ward 5 Area Place Plan. (Full details on attached poster and Engage Highland website)
28th November: Deadline to submit comments
