GALE is an independent social enterprise owned and managed by its local members. Its annual running costs are around £190,000 each year and it receives an annual revenue grant from the Big Lottery Fund of between £7,000 – £10,000. The remaining £180,000 is funded through donations from members of the public and trading activities such as service level agreements and consultancy contracts with other likeminded social enterprises and community groups; and retail sales, room rental and activities at The GALE Centre.
