Mountaineer Doug Scott CBE, will be telling the story of his legendary crawl down The Ogre in Pakistan’s Karakorum, following the first ever ascent with Sir Chris Bonington in July, 1977, in a tour of the Highlands & Islands. This legendary journey saw Doug with two broken legs, no ice axe and a long way down to travel. But the mountain wasn’t the only problem, despite The Ogre being one of the most difficult mountains in the world to climb. The helicopter that rescued them crash-landed, albeit with no further injury to it’s passengers, and a seven-day wait ensued for the next one to arrive.
