In July 2004 GALE was awarded a contract with the Wester Ross Alliance to help deliver and administer the Wester Ross Crofting Initiative. This is an initiative to help crofting communities throughout Wester Ross to develop plans for their communities and work in partnership together to enhance their standard of living.
To date, nine communities in Wester Ross have received financial support from the Initiative to help compile and implement their development plans.
GALE worked specifically with communities in Badrallach, Wester Loch Ewe, Scoraig and Achiltibuie as well as organising a study tour to Skye for local food producers.
