“Pay What You Can” Returns to The GALE Centre!
Introduction
Hey there! We’ve got some exciting news to share! The Pay What You Can initiative is making a comeback at The GALE Centre Community Cafe starting December 16th! This lovely programme is all about spreading kindness and support within our community, especially during these tough times when many of us are feeling the pinch of the ongoing cost of living crisis.
Inspired by the wonderful idea of paying it forward, we’d love for you to join us in this meaningful effort! Your contributions, no matter how small, like covering the cost of a warm cup of coffee or a toastie, can create a ripple effect of generosity that reaches far and wide. Last year, we saw some truly heartwarming acts of kindness during this initiative, and we’re thrilled to bring that spirit back!
How You Can Help
To make sure the Pay What You Can programme stays going strong, we kindly ask you to Pay it Forward. You can do this by making cash donations at the Centre or by visiting our donation page. Every little bit helps keep this important service alive for our community!

The GALE Centre Community Cafe will still be serving its regular menu, where you can pay what you can. If you’re going through a tough financial time, don’t worry, you’re more than welcome to enjoy our delicious food without any pressure to pay. Janet Miles, our Managing Director, really emphasises the importance of this initiative, saying, “At a time when so many of us are struggling, it’s important to be able to socialise and spend quality time with friends.”
And guess what? This year, we’re extending Pay What You Can to operate 7 days a week! We’re determined to make the most of our available funds and hope to run the scheme until the end of February. When the funds are gone, we’ll go back to our regular pricing, and we’ll keep you posted on our Facebook page and within the GALE Centre.
