GALE firsts are not common but the news I will share in this message is certainly a first. Janet Miles, our Managing Director, is leaving to take up a new challenge with a Highland third sector organisation.

Janet has led GALE for the past 26 years being integral to the organisation’s development and impact across our community.

Whilst the news was a surprise and is tinged with sadness, we will make the very best use of Janet’s remaining time with us, celebrate GALE’s success under her leadership and give her a suitable send-off.

The GALE Board has commenced the process of securing the next leader of the organisation and we will keep you informed as this progresses. A Members Meeting will be held in March.

Turbulence is inevitable when a long-term leader moves on from an organisation but I am confident that GALE will build on the success delivered under Janet and will have opportunities for collaboration with her in the future.
