Introduction
We’re pleased to share an initiative that’s underway, brought to us by the Development Trust Association Scotland.
Our team at GALE has been given the responsibility to delve into some pressing questions: What hurdles do individuals with additional support needs encounter in their journey to becoming ‘active citizens’? How can we make the path smoother and more inclusive for everyone?
Volunteering
Volunteering has always been a powerful way to connect with our community. It bares the essence of good citizenship and is an excellent way to actively contribute to the society we live in. It could range from a formal volunteering position at an organisation, to the simple act of helping out a neighbour or participating in community consultations and events.
Our mission is to understand the challenges and barriers individuals with additional support needs may face in these areas. We have already reached out to several organisations in our local area who work with volunteers to gain their perspective. But to get a comprehensive understanding, we absolutely need to hear from YOU – the individuals within the community. Whether you’re someone with additional support needs who is already volunteering or someone who has not yet taken that step, we want to hear your story.
Your Voice Matters
Interested in being a part of this meaningful project? Do you want to learn more about our research? We encourage you to reach out to us at charlie@galeteam.co.uk or volunteering@galeteam.co.uk. We’ll be more than happy to provide you with further information and a participant information sheet.
We’re aiming to wrap up the data collection phase before mid-December, so don’t hesitate to get in touch soon.
Your voice matters in shaping a more inclusive community. We look forward to hearing from you!
